CAAC: 350 Million Air Passengers Expected Next Year

China's civil aviation sector expects to carry 350 million passengers in 2013, the industry watchdog said at the 2013 National Civil Aviation Work Conference held in Beijing on Dec. 20-21.


The year 2013 is a crucial year for the 12th Five-Year Plan period (2011-2015) to connect the past and future. According to the spirit of the Party's 18th Conference and the Central Economic Working Conference, the leading party group of the Civil Aviation Administration (CAAC) identifies the general requirements of civil aviation job in 2013. All civil aviation units should earnestly implement the spirit of the Party's18th Conference, implement the "Several Opinions of the State Council on the Promotion of the Development of Civil Aviation" in all aspects, insist on progresses while maintaining stability, as well as ensure continued safety, deepen reform and opening, speed up infrastructure construction, strengthen science, technology and education and vigorously expand capacity and improve efficiency to promote civil aviation's sustainable and healthy development.


In 2013, China's civil aviation sector is expected to transport a turnover volume of 65 billion ton kilometers, and receive up to 350 million passengers and 5.7 million tons of cargo and mail. General aviation flight hours will reach 570,000, a growth of 7% over last year. China's civil aviation sector will invest 150 billion yuan in fixed assets, including 75 billion yuan investment in infrastructure construction.


To achieve the development goals of civil aviation next year, civil aviation needs to carry out six key jobs. First, to ensure continued safety in every efforts; second, to promote stable growth by all possible means; third, to improve operation quality effectively; fourth, to deepen reform and opening actively; fifth, to increase security ability; sixth, to strength science technology and education continuously.
